So, what's this all about?

AutoFyre has been developed with the express purpose of helping people who are thinking of buying or selling a used car. It provides guidelines on specific models as well as general buying advice. Our valuation tool is based purely on market data, not opinions of those in the industry. The premise is simple: how much are other cars like this selling for? Obviously, it's never really that simple, but it's a good start. We go a step further: add the mileage of the car you're intending to buy or sell and we will produce a guide price based on that, taking into account the actual variations in the market. Three figures are produced in the guideline, representing the values of cars that are in good, average or below average condition. That's pretty cool, even if I say so myself!

At the moment, AutoFyre is still a new player in the market, but we have very big plans. Currently in development is a tool to help you choose a car. It's for all those people that don't really know what they want, or aren't sure which cars are the better ones to go for. We can help. You may notice a rating dial in the valuation tool. This rating is derived from a number of different aspects of market data, and is intended to represent the 'desirability' of the car. It's this rating that will help form the basis of the chooser tool. Simply state your budget and preferences, and we will produce a list of the best picks. It's that simple.

We are also in the process of writing reviews on used cars. Over time, we hope to document a good portion of the makes and models that make up the majority of the market. We hope that these reviews will provide a better insight into the benefits and pitfalls of owning particular cars or types of cars.

We also provide general information about buying a used car. What to look for, what to insist on and what to stay away from. We know how difficult it can be looking for a car, and it can definately be a terrifying experience. The brutal reality is that not everyone has a trusted soul that they can turn to for advice and guidance. We hope to address that by making you as informed as possible, ensuring that you will not be 'taken' by the predators out there.

In the coming months, we will also be introducing detailed reports about specific vehicles. This is not those 'historical' reports you get elsewhere, it's detailed information about the car and it's place in the market. Things like the rate of depreciation, regional variations, market share etc. etc. So keep an eye out for those, they might be useful.

AutoFyre is currently only covering the Australian market, but we have plans in place to expand the service to other countries. This will also allow us to draw comparisons between markets and broaden the range of our services.

The information contained in this service is based on real world used car sales data collected from various sources. The focus of the service is intended to be on private sales of used vehicles, but dealer information is also provided for reference and comparison.
